The Lake Tekapo Footbridge consists of a structural steel fifty metre arched truss with two entering girder spans. The bridge is currently under fabrication and, once constructed, will provide access from the Church of the Good Shepperd in Tekapo across the Tekapo Canal to the town centre. The design has been based around the naturally efficient arch form while utilising internal sectional distance with a three-metre truss. Working together with Arthur Tyndall and Texco Steel & Drilling this iconic structure, once completed, will provide a remarkable complement to the view from Tekapo and the church across the lake towards the magnificent Southern Alps.
