Voluntary structural engineering assistance was provided to the NZ Civil Defense force following the devastating earthquake of February 2011  within the Lyttelton Central district and port control and Central Christchurch and suburbs. Assistance involved building inspections for damage assessment and suitability of occupation and design and construction monitoring of emergency structural stabilisation.
